Clint D. Johnson, founder and publisher at Christian Action Hero Universe, unveiled his upcoming Faith Walker: Genesis, a three volume, mini-book series at Alpha Omega Con 6 on September 21st. The trilogy will chronicle the origin of Faith Walker.
“At Alpha Omega Con we started the first leg of our official Faith Walker: Genesis campaign,” Johnson told CM. “Next year, 2020, will mark 30 years since his first appearance as a three panel comicstrip in 1990. We are building up to the release.”
Before the character Faith Walker entered the world of comic books, the “Priestly patrol man” appeared bi-weekly in the Los Angeles Community Circle Clipper. The black and white comicstrip enjoyed “a near four year run,” Johnson noted.
Johnson distributed the first official flyer for Faith Walker: Genesis at Alpha Omega Con and in the days following is updating the Christian Action Hero Universe website and will begin posting on social media platforms about the series.
Alpha Omega, the first and longest running Christian/family themed comic book and pop culture convention, was staged at The First Baptist Church of Downey in Downey, California.
“Alpha Omega Con 6 was absolutely amazing,” Johnson told CM. “From the first social media planning post, to the final prayer on the premises at 6 p.m., we had a blast.”
Johnson explained the convention was a vision of Christian Comic Arts Society founding member, the late Don Ensign. He conveyed CCAS members regularly hold SOCAL (Southern California) meetings with Christ and comics as the primary intersection.
“Trusting God and seeing the need for a Christian presence, the group has been a mainstay at the San Diego Comic Con for over two decades,” Johnson said. “With prayer, passion, and experience in other comic conventions, the core group and supporters in 2013 realized the launch of the first Alpha Omega Con.”
Johnson expressed that staging the Alpha Omega Con was not without challenge, stressing that event coordination, collaboration and manpower were essential.
“The volunteer staff and supporters worked tirelessly to bring this convention to fruition,” he said. “The gymnasium at First Baptist Church of Downey was transformed into a festive meeting ground of creatives, friends, family, pros, armatures and believers. Attendees were greeted with smiles as families and creatives came from miles around.”
Johnson conveyed that the Alpha Omega Con “is the hub of Christians in Pop Culture, hosting comic creators, authors, actors, artists, cosplayers and gamers.” The informative roster of panels presented the topics of film, the rules of Christian media, voiceover acting, crowdfunding, gaming, costumes and much more.
“The warm and friendly environment provided an excellent Saturday getaway for families and opportunity for pros and enthusiast to meet and greet,” the publisher said. “At close of AOCon 6, many attendees are eagerly anticipating the God-honoring, upbeat activities of next year’s Christian Comic and Pop-Culture Convention.”
And honoring God is the reason for it all. As a result, God has blessed Clint D. Johnson and his Christian Action Hero Universe. And that’s a thumbs up from the greatest superhero in the universe.
