'MUTANT' VFX SHORT IN POST-PRODUCTION
Sheepshed Entertainment founder, writer, director and producer Katherine Johnson.
Sheepshed Entertainment, which operates in North Alabama, announced two projects are currently in post-production.
“One is a comedic short imagining what it was like for Adam and Eve to deliver Cain, without having seen a human baby,” Sheepshed founder and producer, Katherine Johnson, told CM. “The other is a story about a group of mutants who try to recruit a recluse, to join their cause. It is a unique film for this niche of the Christian industry, with X-Men style characters and VFX.”
Two new short films are scheduled to go before the cameras in September and a music video titled The Ballet Song will be released.
Johnson told CM Sheepshed has a sitcom in development, which isn’t an easy task, as appropriate content for the genre isn’t easy to come by.
“Finding clean series is increasingly difficult,” Johnson said.
Sheepshed Entertainment reported that their award-winning short film BUMP, released on January 27 this year and available on DVD, has expanded its audience reach. BUMP recently premiered on Amazon Prime Video, giving the futuristic, pro-life film a “bump” in exposure.
Written, produced, and directed by Johnson, BUMP stars Bethany Davenport, J.C. Scott and Robert Thomason. Principal photography took place in Huntsville, March 21-31, in 2017.
Johnson shared that her production company hasn't enjoyed the progress she anticipated due to personal physical challenges.
“This is incredibly below my projected output for this year, due to my undergoing spine surgery in 2018 and a recovery of limited mobility,” she said. “However, God's plan is perfect and He is using all for His glory.”
Aside from BUMP, Sheepshed Entertainment has released three other short films this year, including Colors of Brilliance, Meredith Johnson: Diana’s Best and Guilt. Sheepshed’s projects are produced with the ultimate goal of seeing people trust in Christ as their Savior.
'MAGGIE MCNAIR' CARTOON CONTINUES DRIVE
'Maggie McNair's World' by Sheila Booth-Alberstadt on a faith-driven trail to the world of animation.
Character Maggie McNair has had an easier time occupying the world of children’s books than making the leap to animated series. Sheila Booth-Alberstadt, founder and CEO of Big Light Creations, who has imagined Maggie as a moving cartoon since 2015, has faith it will happen.
The print series, published by SBA Books and focusing on health and hygiene, launched in the summer of 2010 with Maggie McNair Has Spiders in Her Hair. It was followed in 2011, with Maggie McNair Wears Stinky Underwear. The third book in the series, Maggie McNair Has Sugar Bugs in There, was published in 2013. A new title, pending publication, Maggie McNair, Get Your Finger out of There, is completed.
What hasn’t seen completion is the goal of a fully animated Maggie McNair’s World cartoon series.
“I first started working on a Maggie McNair’s World animation with the idea of creating it in 3D,” Booth-Alberstadt told CM. “Big Light [Creations] was ready for pitching it in 2016.”
Booth-Alberstadt noted that there currently is a shortage of quality children’s entertainment that is not only good, but pure and fun, displaying “godly virtue.”
“My prayer is to be connected with the people who share the same heart, who can financially support our team, to continue producing animated programs that ‘display’ what it looks like to be of Christian character, rather than preach,” she said.
In the series, Maggie and her nine Bug Friends, each representing a fruit of the Spirit, represent positive role models. The goal of each script is intended to equip children, and adults, with a better understanding of Christianity in a simple manner.
“Children learn best from observing, and with Maggie McNair’s World, I'm hoping it will ‘draw’ an audience to a world where kids can be kids, bugs can be bugs, and God can be God,” Booth-Alberstadt said.
The series creator launched a Kickstarter campaign in 2016, with the notion of premiering the cartoon in three months.
“I hired a marketing guy that previously held the record for the most money raised for Christian content—I took his word. One week before launching, he literally disappeared,” she said. “My team made the decision to launch it anyway, and after a few weeks, I ended it.”
She explained that Kickstarter campaigns should have a marketing plan in place to be successful, but in her case she was thankful she was reimbursed through PayPal, concerning her vanishing marketer, after filing a claim.
“In 2018, I had it animated in 2D, with hopes to have options for any potential producer or investor,” Booth-Alberstadt said.
The author was an unbeliever until the age of forty-one, when God gave her His eternal gift—Faith to believe. Belief in the series goes undiminished.
“Since animation is expensive, our biggest prayer is for an investor, or investors, to see the value in not only the series being produced, but also the endless possibilities available with merchandising,” she added.
Those wishing to invest, or assist, can contact the author by phone at (251)232-9927, or by email at Sheila@sbabooks.com. You can see various stages of Maggie McNair animation on the Maggie McNair’s World YouTube Channel.
'SAINT' SECOND ISSUE NEARING PUBLICATION
Risen Vision team, left to right, Joshua Washington, David Johnson and Za'Kariya Payton.
Risen Vision comics publisher and founder, Daniel Johnson, recently announced the second issue of their Saint series will be published and available soon. The first issue of Saint received high praise and critical acclaim in Christian comics circles and mainstream media.
“Saint is about a young man who is on a down side in life after losing his mother,” David Johnson told CM. “He is looking for a career, but God reveals to him his calling and purpose in life, and it is greater and more unexpected than anything he could have ever imagined.”
Founded in 2017, Risen Vision’s highly creative team includes second in command, Joshua Washington, and Za'Kariya Payton, who serves as lead administrator and promoter.
Risen Vision’s slogan, “Sharing our vision with the world while giving God the glory,” is more akin to a spiritual anthem.
“That’s because we feel that representing Jesus, and telling compelling and encouraging stories through comic books, is different and can encourage someone in the real world, all while maintaining the fun and action of a regular comic book,” Johnson explained.
Risen Vision comics publishing can be found on platforms Facebook and Instagram. The first issue of Saint is available from Amazon and Risen Vision comics.
' RAPTURE CHRONICLES ' SERIES PREMIERES
"The Rapture Chronicles" creator Dray Hill.
Churchouse Productions, based in Detroit, Michigan, has launched a compelling new web series, The Rapture Chronicles. Producer Dray Hill, who founded Churchouse Productions in 1999, explains the eight episode series will present many unique fictionalized stories about the subject of rapture, told from different perspectives.
The first episode of the series was released on June 24 of this year. The second will be released either in late August or early September, 2019. Hill, who is the writer of the series, conveyed he has completed four more scripts, and one contributed by Carmen Greer will become an episode. The plan is to release a new episode every month and conclude the series by February, 2020.
“From that point on, we will see what the Lord has in store,” Hill said.
Hill points to the holy bible verses, 1 Cor. 15:52 and 1 Thes. 4:17, as the message of the real, impending rapture. The producer recognizes a “worldwide phenomenon poised to take place at any given moment," and the web series reveals what can happen.
“It is our goal in each episode is to place average people in an everyday situation and reveal the fact that the rapture could happen right in the middle of your routine day,” Hill explained. “We want to stimulate Christians to keep this event in the forefront of their thinking and inspire them to live their best life for the Lord.”
The Rapture Chronicles is also for non-Christians, to illustrate how the rapture could happen, while at the same time allowing them to better understand the bible's interpretation of the word “rapture."
The first episode in the series, High School Reunion, featured actors in principal roles including Carmen Greer, Jala Buckley, and Emily J. Buckner. The upcoming second episode, The Home Going, will feature Billie Rae Bates, Aaron Travers, Cornelius Sims, Jala Buckley and Gerald Ervin, playing principal characters.
“Because we work together so well, some of the same actors will appear as different characters, but each story is totally different from the first one,” Dray explained.
The Rapture Chronicles series is available for viewing via Facebook and YouTube.
Churchouse Productions originally started as a producer of music, then moved into multimedia several years ago. The organization launched a new website in April of this year.

The first episode is available for viewing on the Rod Pickens YouTube Channel. The goal of the series is unveil and address the world of suffering believers.

G. I. WONDER? TRIO ANNOUNCES DEBUT ALBUM
Christian hip hop trio G.I. Wonder?
The Christian Hip Hop trio G.I. Wonder? will be releasing its debut album this September, the band announced. Titled Paid the Price, the group, featuring the talents of Chris Cross, Mike Creammz and Willy Cook, will be offering the album free of charge available from all major streaming platforms and YouTube.
G.I. Wonder? structures itself on delivering the message of Christ through lyricism, creativity, and melodic music. The group was founded in May 2014 when Cross moved in with brothers Willy Cook and Mike Creammz. The trio has facilitated anything to serve as a recording studios since.
“We began recording together in closets, cars, our bedroom, anywhere we could,” Mike Creammz told CM. “I'd say we have relatively good responses from live performances. People seem to react and gravitate towards our flows/lyrics.”
The explosion of the digital age has been a real game-changer for G.I. Wonder? and the indie Christian music industry as a whole.
“Technology is so vital right now. I think it's helping Christian artists more than anything,” Creammz said. “The ability to distribute your work on multiple streaming sites in addition to promoting it with social media pretty much speaks for itself. The world has gone digital. Our message will never change, but the method has to be consistent with the times.”
Creammz told CM, "Paid The Price is a double entendre that is symbolic of Jesus paying the ultimate price for us, and the album itself will be free of charge. The number of tracks on this album is still uncertain at the moment, because the album in itself is not completely finished right now.”
Hip hop and rap continues to be a growing genre in Christian music, and while it may not appeal to everyone, it is all about someone--Jesus Christ.
“I feel like a lot of those Christians got too caught up in tradition and religion, and in doing so missed an entire window for a new form of ministry to be unveiled,” Creammz explained. “We understand that this method definitely isn't for everyone, but it certainly is for others.”
The trio’s album’s content will be all new, previously unreleased material. G.I. Wonder? plans to create a documentary video about the making of Paid the Price for release prior to the album. Be sure to check out their YouTube channel, and listen on SoundCloud.
Besides the planned documentary video, no specific events are planned for the release of Paid the Price, but that can change fast. The trio has a concert in October that undoubtedly will highlight songs from the album.

“This journey started as a book titled, Clown In The Prayer Closet, then a movie,” Bryant told CM. “We are still performing the stage play and now God has given me a Sitcom!”
A writer of urban Christian fiction, Bryant announced will be filmed in front of a live audience followed by a panel discussion on the subject. The first episode of CITPC, titled Train a Child In The Way They Shall Go, will be recorded this October 5 at RC's Event Center in San Leandro, California. The filming will also be streamed live via their website.

Byrant stated that a new episode will be filmed and streamed per month. The show runs 28:30, allowing spots for advertisers.
“Clown In The Prayer Closet takes you on a mental journey of life, puppy love, sex, drugs, and dysfunctional family life told through the eyes of a sixteen-year-old young lady named Denise,” she conveyed. “An ageless story of love, rebellion, denial and redemption. Appropriate for all ages.
Main players include Derriecia Maxon in the role of Denise, Nisha Brown as evangelist (and Denise’s mother) Millie Ann, and Kevin Thibodeaux as father of Denise.

WEB SERIES REBOOT TO HONOR DAUGHTER
Producer Jon Smith with daughter Deseray.
Like Starting Over, the award-winning web series produced by Allegheny Mountain Entertainment, is about to “start over” again.
Company founder and producer, Jon Smith, came up with the concept of Like Starting Over in 2014, producing the first episode. It was available on the internet the following year.
The objective was to develop an alternative way to present faith-based and family entertainment. The story involved a pro-athlete single father who is forced to retire and move back to his hometown to raise his pre-teen children.
Then the funding ran out and major video platforms like Hulu and Netflix wouldn’t carry Like Starting Over unless “8 to 10 episodes” were completed.
“This was a story of family, faith and redemption,” Smith told CM. “You really need to know someone important in the business to go very far in the industry, especially the faith-based platform. We were satisfied with what the videos had accomplished and proud of the awards we have won and the positive comments we received, until this past April.”
That’s when this father’s world suddenly changed, with the tragic death of his 29-year-old daughter, Deseray.
“It was soul and faith crushing,” Smith said. “She was visiting a school in Florida when she was struck by a car and killed. That accident turned the page in my life.”
Smith found himself at a crossroads in life, questioning his faith.
“Then my youngest daughter suggested making a new Like Starting Over web episode, that both honors Deseray, and also those who are organ and tissue donors,” he said.
Smith has decided to produce the episode and dedicate it to his daughter, a U.S. Marine and an organ donor. To be titled The Journey Home, the Christian rock band Skillet is lending music for the episode.
“We plan to start the production of the video this September, and we hope to raise capital with a crowd-funding campaign and in the next few weeks.” Smith explained. “I will be volunteering for the non-profit group CORE (Center for Organ Recovery and Education).”
It’s full speed ahead for Allegheny Mountain Productions, located in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, but this time it’s different.
“I'm kick-starting the most important project of my life, the real story of what happened to me, and how it impacts my family and all of those who surround us,” he said. “And how important it is to stand up and to praise God when you think he has forsaken you.”
Smith is looking at several faith-based competitions to catch the attention of producers, directors, and those who can help his videos get noticed by large platforms with worldwide reach.
“I know it’s a pipe dream, but with hard work, and if the project is blessed by God, we will be successful,” Smith said. “We hope to make a positive impact in the world.”
The Like Starting Over reboot is expected to go into production by the last week of September or first week of October. Contact Jon Smith if you’d like to invest in this mission.

Nathan was airlifted to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in February, and is now on the long road to recovery.
“Nathan is a champion,” his father, Josh Peck, told CM. “He is in remission now and has a couple more years of treatment ahead of him to make sure the leukemia doesn't come back, but he's handling it very well.”
Christina is a life-long advocate of all natural foods and products, so will be able to help Nathan’s Journey in the best possible way.

“Daily Renegade is the Netflix of fringe Christianity,” Josh told CM. “It started because YouTube started deleting my videos without reason, so I built a censorship-free platform for trusted speakers to host their materials. If YouTube would have played fair, there would be no Daily Renegade, but instead they just created some competition for themselves.”

In Terrify the Dark, John Cooper writes in lyrics, “No power on Earth, no power in hell, is gonna steal my peace. Ten Thousand enemies, they will end up on their knees, when I’m hopeless, I can know this, you’re with me.”
The album's title track, Victorious, is dedicated to depression victims, including Chester Bennington, of Linkin Park, who committed suicide by hanging in 2017.

Reed reprises the role she played in the series’ predecessor, Papers XIII Blood Currency, in which “the FBI moves to close Operation Paper Clip.”
McCants, aka #MrHilarity, told CM, “The private police sector in my series is called OPC (Operation Paper Clip).” He said the name was based on the “‘Papers’ nature of the film series and the Threat of the Papers.”
Reed told CM, “In this ‘Paperverse’ I aspire to keep the American people safe–raising levels of security protocols, running DNA tests to figure out this apparent group of hostile people that are wired with an atypical DNA structure–and they’re using paper-based products against humanity! It’s truly a fun film.”
Writer and Director, McCants, who told CM that he produces these feature films in succession, every 3-4 months, posted this to social media July 11:
