Good news for die hard Vindication fans. You don’t have to wait for Santa, your perfect gift is available at this moment. The critically-acclaimed, faith-based crime and justice series was released on DVD by Vision Video on October 15. The 2-disc set, which retails for around $19.95 from all major retail outlets, features all 10 half-hour episodes from Season One, 280 minutes in all.
Series creator, Jarod O’Flaherty, crafted Vindication to contain elements of the Christian faith, while taking on hard-hitting issues often bypassed by other faith-conscious productions.
“The series has been described by fans as a ‘slow boil,’ with storylines and dramatic elements building through each episode,” O’Flaherty told CM. “This storytelling approach causes many audience members to report that they binge watched the whole series in one sitting. With the DVD release, Vindication now becomes more accessible to a wider audience and ensures fans will always have access to the content.”
The Vindication series is a production of Retta Vision Motion Pictures, in association with Flyrock Media, founded by Jarod O’Flaherty, who is director of the series.
Cast in principal roles are Todd Terry as Detective Gary Travis, Peggy Schott as Becky Travis, Emma Elle Roberts plays Katie Travis, Venus Monique is Kris Tanner, and Steve Mokate is Sgt. Bill Tomlinson. Additional talent to grace Vindication includes Matt Holmes, Gary Ongley, Robbie Clark, Jeffery Gray, Brennan McCullars, Tom Costello Jr., Paul Caraway, Blue McElroy and others.
Producers (executive/associate/consulting) include William Curtis, Jarod O’Flaherty, Michael Dennis, Micheal Willbanks, Abby Wilkie, Kat Steffens, and William Carroll.
The series sprang from interest in an original short film, Vindication, dating back to October, 2015. This film eventually became the first episode in the series, titled Alibi. The episodic version of Vindication quickly became a hit with its Amazon Prime Video debut on August 9, 2019.
“Initial audience feedback on the series has been overwhelmingly positive, with a cumulative score of 4.9 out of 5 on Amazon's streaming platform,” O’Flaherty said.
Lead actor Todd Terry, who plays Detective Travis in the fictional town of East Bank, Texas, shared with CM a few months back how O’Flaherty approached him about the prospect of doing a series. Terry starred in the original short film as Detective Travis.
“Jarod told me about the concept to create a series and bring the whole Travis family into the big picture. I thought it was a great idea,” Terry told CM. “Once I met the series regular cast, I definitely felt we had good chemistry, and loved the dynamic of the personal family hardships alongside the day-to-day struggles of my character’s job as a detective.”
Jarod O’Flaherty said the producers of the series will continue to monitor the viewership numbers, and wait patiently, to determine if a Season Two collection of episodes is warranted.
For the many who have an Amazon account, purchasing the DVD set of Vindication, Season One, is just a click away.
