Mindfix Entertainment founder and CEO Bruce R. Snyder has announced he is engaged in wrapping up funding for the film project Worthy. The project, written and directed by Snyder, is about a young priest who is questioning his position decision but also skeptical concerning his own faith.
“The film is all about spiritual warfare,” Snyder told CM. “We are going into uncharted waters because I have never seen a faith based film tackle this issue. Instead of a film where the character faces challenges and they turn to God, we are almost doing the opposite.”
The film will tackle demonic strongholds such as suicide, addictions, domestic violence, adultery and even murder.
“The big issue we do tackle as well is the most important--and it is the devil--telling us we are not good enough and we need to obsess over our past choices and mistakes,” Snyder shared. “That is where he will cripple us.”
The entire film will be shot in Snyder’s hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. The biggest challenge at the moment is securing funding, but Snyder is confident the movie will be successful.
“It is vital to get the message out today in a world where we can clearly see warfare right in front of our eyes,” he said.
Snyder explained the central character will display spiritual warfare in the mind and many of the story’s characters don't believe in God.
“They don't even realize they are under attack from the demonic world,” Snyder said. “So why would they turn to God if they don't even know they are under attack?”
Worthy will depict the devil and his demonic helpers throughout the film tempting the principal characters in their thoughts. Snyder’s script doesn’t spring from an active spiritual imagination, but from personal experience.
“Ever since the beginning of Worthy going public, I went under spiritual attack and hard. I have gone through very difficult everyday situations,” he said. “I have lost loved ones, and saw a family member throw his life away over one bad decision, and in a fit of rage, he will probably spend the rest of his life in prison.”
Snyder’s wife also suffered a heart attack and faces a long recovery process at home. The screenwriter and director also found himself in the center of a surreal situation involving firearms.
“I was caught in the middle of a gun fight from two people walking out of a tavern. I have never even held a gun, let alone been in the middle of a gunfight.”
Sherry Hudak is the Worthy project producer. The talented Greg Kraus is director of cinematography with production assistant Ethan Curtis. The film will feature actors Caleb Thomas, Dominic Cancelliere, Tony Senzamici, Reen Vogel, , Ashleigh Dillon, Lauren Paulis, Alexa Rose, Sandra Flagstad, Kenney Myers, Abigail Hovey and Ren Cleveland. The team also includes Valyo Gennoff and Craig Raymo involved in music production, as well as the bands Drive Thru Society, Zahna, Ignescent, Adelaide and Stacie Brown.
Snyder is committed to the project as he sees how it is one way to defeat the devil while the devil is trying to defeat him.
“I will never quit with Worthy because I know all of this is the devil,” he said. “I know how to engage in combat with him and I know how our minds must be in alignment with God. But I am still a human being and it is not easy.“
Mindfix Entertainment hopes to put Worthy into production in 2020 and release it before Christmas by that year end. The story contains a powerful scene featuring the Christmas carol O Holy Night.
What Bruce Snyder wants people most people to take away from the completed movie is “hope.”
“It's easy to load up a bus full of Christians to go see the film, but I want to reach the non-believer, the lost and brokenhearted,” he explained. “I will not shove God down someone's throat, but I will guide the viewer to go out and research God themselves. I don't want to tell someone what to do, but rather show them what worked for me. That answer will be Jesus Christ.”
And that's what the devil fears the most.
Snyder said to visit the Worthy on Facebook for the latest updates and that "more casting and more investors" are needed.
